Packing checklist for shipping products

A short checklist to help describe your packaging needs before requesting a quote.

Check the packed item

  • Measure the item after folding or placing it in the shape it will ship in.
  • Note fragile edges, protruding parts, or pieces that should not rub together.
  • Include inserts, labels or other items that will go in the same package.

Think through the package

  • Decide whether a flyer, carton or another format is a useful starting point.
  • Describe any protective material or closure you have in mind.
  • Say whether plain packaging is suitable or whether you want to discuss branding.

Plan what to request

  • Share an approximate quantity and whether the need is one-time or recurring.
  • Mention your location and the date you are hoping for; timing will be confirmed in the quote.
  • Attach artwork only if available. You can still ask about design options without a finished file.

Keep the quote for reference

Review specifications, price, minimum quantity and timing in writing. Keep the reference if you may need to request the packaging again.
